HIV/Aids is no longer the death sentence it once was. But while millions of HIV positive people lead healthy and productive lives, we still have nine million people who still cannot access treatment. We also have a long way to go on preventing new infections.

AIDS 2012 Community Report Back
When: Tuesday, September 18, 2012
Where: Toronto, ON
International AIDS Conference will take place in Washington DC from July 22nd to 27th. ICAD will host a report back meeting for community to learn about the major issues and research coming out of the conference. The report back will be a day-long event and will be held in Toronto. ICAD's Annual General Meeting will be held in conjunction with this event. Further details will be circulated closer to the time but for now, don't forget to note the date in your schedule!

New Data Illustrates Potential Impact of AIDS Vaccine
May 18, 2012—Today, on World AIDS Vaccine Day, we are reminded that AIDS continues to devastate the lives of millions of people across the globe, orphaning children, ravaging communities and disrupting economies. The effort to end the AIDS pandemic requires truly global commitment, and we must continuously rededicate ourselves to this task. Today, we at IAVI are more optimistic than ever before that the development of a preventive AIDS vaccine to help end the pandemic is within reach.
AVAC on HIV Vaccine Awareness Day: Key messages and new materials
On May 18, HIV Vaccine Awareness Day (HVAD), HIV prevention advocates around the globe will raise their voices about the urgent need to continue the search for a powerful HIV prevention tool: an effective vaccine. This update contains links to several exciting new resources that we developed to help advocates add depth and detail to these much-needed conversations, including a new series - AIDS Vaccines for Busy Advocates - that provides one-page summaries on three key issues; a training exercise based on this new series; and the most recent data on AIDS vaccine investment from the HIV Vaccines & Microbicides Resource Tracking Group.
