BODY MAPPING WORKSHOP
In February 2019, ICAD led two workshops on qualitative monitoring, facilitated by Judy Mill, ICAD Board Member—one in Lilongwe, Malawi and one in Mpika, Zambia. During these workshops, participants learned about body mapping and had the opportunity to make their own body maps. It was a hands-on learning experience and excellent way for partners to get to know one another better.
The facilitator took the participants through a series of exercise (a selection of the full set of body mapping exercises included in “Living with X”), pausing at intervals for participants to share their body maps and discuss what their drawings meant for them.

The exercises were:
- Body Tracing
- Highlighting body shape
- Drawing where you come from
- Drawing what and where you are moving towards
- Painting your support
- Journey map
- Body Scanning: marking the power point
- Creating a personal symbol
- Creating a personal slogan
- Marks on skin
- Marks under the skin
- Looking after yourself
